Coach Gina will keep parents updated about practice via her Facebook page, which you can find by searching “DHS Varsity Cheer”. You will see a picture of the “D” on our football field. Please request to be a member. There is no practice this week.
Next week the girls will be at the Bobcats cheer clinic on Outlet Rd from 6 to 8pm Mon through Wed. On Thursday, some girls will go to the Bobcats while others will go to MAE to assist with the Jr. Mounts. Gina will provide more details. August 11-14 is our Pine Forest Cheer Camp. The cost is $280. A $75 deposit is due by July 10th. We will be at the Bobcats field to collect deposits before and after practice Monday through Wed next week. Final payment is due by August 2nd.
The girls were measured for camp clothes last week. Currently, the girls will have a summer uniform and a t-shirt and short set. The cost for this is $81. All girls are required to have the camp clothes even if they are not attending camp. The girls attending camp will still need one more t-shirt (amount to be determined) and they can wear their Nike Running shorts with the white stripe from last year.
The girls were also measured for warm ups. The cost of the warm ups is 187.50. They are reversible and waterproof (last year our girls were soaked on more than one occasion). We would like to hold some summer fundraisers to offset the cost. We would like the girls to participate. Some ideas brought up were a car wash, bucket drop, Candy Bingo, and a Gift Card Lottery Calendar. More details to come.
Board members elected last week are: Joann Halbach – President, Tim Ansilio -Treasurer, and Tom Dettore – Fundraising Coordinator. Christina Brown will remain as our Vice President and Karen Ansilio as our Secretary. Our next meeting will be on July 18th. More details to come.
